The Rehoboth Beach Country Club's Talon Tribe is seeking an experienced and professional Controller.
The Controller is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the day-to-day finance and accounting functions for the Club including managing and controlling all daily finance-related activities.

Responsibilities:
Manages all day-to-day financial operations of the Club in coordination with the Director of Finance.
Reviews the reconciliation of monthly general ledger accounts including receivables, payables, bank accounts, asset accounts and liability accounts.
Prepares accounting reports, financial analysis and information as directed by the Director of Finance.
Informs and advises other department heads about the financial aspects of their responsibilities.
Meets with department heads monthly to review variances with their departmental forecasts.
With Director of Finance and Executive Leadership, prepares annual operating and capital budgets and quarterly financial forecasts; analyzes financial information, monitors budgeted versus actual financial performance and advises management about variances and their potential causes; recommends corrective actions to ensure that procedures are consistent with Club policies and best practices.
Selects, trains, supervises, and evaluates General Ledger Accountant and Purchasing Specialist.
Plans professional development and training activities for the Finance staff.
Oversees all accounts payable, accounts receivable and purchasing functions.
Maintains fixed asset ledgers and prepares depreciation schedules for monthly entries.
Creates and implements internal controls to safeguard Club assets and ensure compliance.
In tandem with the Director of Finance, formulates, recommends, and oversees policy relating to accounting and auditing, the budget, revenue and expense procedures, tax matters, compilations of statistics, office methods and procedures.
Coordinates with Member Services on member collection procedures on past due accounts (30-60-90).
Sends updates to relevant staff regarding pending or suspended status and loss of Club privileges.
Directs or prepares the monthly financial statements including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and Capital Expenditures for the Club along with departmental financial statements.
Authorizes all Club cash disbursements.
The Successful Candidate has:
A bachelor's degree in accounting, or related program of study, from a four-year college or university is required.
Master's degree in a related field is a plus.
Background in hospitality accounting preferred.
Management level position with 3
years of previous experience in Finance or Accounting field.
Experience working in a fast-paced office environment.
Must have exceptional computer skills:
Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook.
Jonas Club software knowledge preferred.
Knowledge of payroll systems a plus.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Use good judgment and exercise sound decision making skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Essential to have management experience.
Position requires organizational focus, strong diplomacy, attention to detail, adaptability and flexibility.
CPA or CHAE preferred.
